The School President, Fr. Manny Uy,SJ

This is Fr. Manny Uy, SJ, our charismatic school president. He looks out for all of us and can be seen in most of the school celebrations and mass ceremonies. He takes care of the school's affairs and does all he can for the student body.

Intramurals 2009

The gym is packed with students, parents, and teachers. This is one of the school's most grand ceremonies celebrating sports and showcasing the talents of the students in Cheer Dance competitions and it marks the beginning for various sports competitions for the student body.

Our School Seal

This is the Sacred Hear School - Ateneo de Cebu school logo. All of the students that study in SHS-AdC was taught the meaning of this logo. Now, I shall enlighten you as to what it means for us. The red background with the stripes and the yellow background is the coat of arms of St. Ignatius' family or House. The wolves there are fighting over the food inside the pot. The eagle is a symbol that has various meanings for the various Atenean schools. For us, the eagle symbolizes our goal to fly higher and to do more and be more. The word "Lux Oriens" means a light arising in the land of the morning. This is only a short statement to make you more familiar with our school seal. You can ask any Ateneo Hearter out there what this school seal means for them. You might get different answers but the same will be true...This seal embodies who we are and who we aspire to be.

The Institution and its body

SHS - AdC is a school that gratifies or provides the students a home away from home. It is an institution that develops students to become MEN and WOMEN for OTHERS. They also try to nourish the talents and skills through the various extra-curricular activities provided. The institution also helps the students as much as they can for real world challenges.
It offers multi-functional facilities like the libraries, well-conditioned computer laboratories, and air-conditioned audio-visual rooms. If you love running or playing soccer, you can use the track and field oval which has a large grassy patch at the middle of it. We also have the school gym that you can use to play basketball. During our school plays, we use the mini-theater.
The community is well-equipped with staff and teachers who are kind and ready to help the students not only with their studies but also with other matters. The teachers are ready to listen to you, help you grow, and will do as much as they can to make you a better person. They will always be ready to render service to others who are in need especially to the pupils and parents.
